Average
An intermediate number between the extremes of 2 dice rolls, or the most likely common result between 2 numbers rolled on die.

Character
A game object which represents a living organism, capable of moving around on its own. Characters can exist only inside rooms. Examples of characters are players and mobiles.

Game Object
A thing represented by a complex structure which can be acted upon by the game. Game objects include characters, items, rooms, and triggers.

Immortal
A game administrator, having special commands to manipulate the game in ways that normal players can not.

Item
A game object which can be used by characters. Items can be in a room, carried by a character, held by a character, or inside another item. Also referred to as objects (note the difference between objects and game objects though). Examples of items are swords, fountains, and books.

Mobile
Traditionally, a game object capable of moving around without assistance. A non-player character, controlled by the game. Examples of mobs are city guards and fidos.

Room
A game object representing a volume in space. Rooms can contain items and characters. Examples of rooms are Temple Square, The Reading Room, and A Clearing.
